Terms of use

By using Voto Lá Fora, you accept these rules.

The site

  • It is a noticeboard of rides and places to stay for getting to your polling station in the 2nd round, on 25 October 2026.
  • It does not transport anyone, host anyone or act as an intermediary. Each person is responsible for what they arrange and what they do.
  • It does not check identity, cars, insurance or homes, and does not guarantee that a ride or a stay will happen.
  • It may go offline or have errors. Always have a plan B for getting to your polling station.

Who can use it

  • Only people aged 18 or over. Minors may travel or stay only with their father, mother or legal guardian, and the person making the request must say so in the message.
  • Use only your own, true details.

Rules

  • The site only connects people. It does not receive payments or act as an intermediary for them. Any arrangement, including sharing trip costs, is made directly between the people involved, privately, person to person. Amounts do not appear in listings.
  • Rides only in the driver's own car or van. No chartered coaches, taxis, ride-hailing cars or hired drivers.
  • Whoever drives holds a driving licence valid in the country and up-to-date insurance, and does not carry more people than there are seat belts.
  • Stays only in the home where you live. No hotels, hostels or commercial accommodation.
  • A place never depends on how anyone votes. It is forbidden to make a ride or stay conditional on a vote, party, candidate or political view, to choose or refuse someone for that reason, and to offer or accept any advantage linked to voting. Such conduct may be an electoral crime under Brazilian law (Electoral Code, art. 299, and Lei 6.091/1974), and whoever commits it is personally liable for it.
  • No campaigning. During the ride and the stay, nobody carries campaign material, asks for votes or asks who the other person votes for.
  • On the 25th, a voting preference may only be expressed individually and silently. Do not arrive at the polling station as a group wearing matching clothes or carrying flags.
  • Listings without advertising or contact details: no candidates, parties, candidate numbers, slogans, phone numbers, email addresses, links or full street addresses.
  • No discrimination. The only exception is the "women only" option, which exists for safety. Anyone who ticks "I am a woman" declares that they are a woman.
  • The WhatsApp number you receive may be used only to arrange that particular trip or stay. No groups, lists or advertising.
  • It is also forbidden to insult, threaten or harass anyone, to create fake listings or requests, and to use bots.

Responsibility

  • The site is an open space, like a public noticeboard. Every listing, request and message is published by whoever wrote it, under their own responsibility. The site does not review content before it is published and is not obliged to monitor it: it acts when it receives a report or becomes aware of content that breaks these rules or the law.
  • The site only puts people in touch. It is not responsible for any matters relating to transport, accommodation, payments or confirmations between users. All interactions and dealings between users take place privately and independently, without any involvement, intermediation or influence from the platform.
  • The site is not a party to any agreement between users. It does not organise trips or stays, does not choose who travels or stays, does not set times, routes, house rules or how costs are shared, and does not receive or pass on money.
  • Nobody is verified. The site does not check identity, criminal records, driving licences, insurance, or the condition of vehicles or homes. The "women only" option and all information in listings and requests are statements made by whoever published them.
  • Each person is responsible for their own choices and actions, on and off the site: for what they list, request, arrange and do, including during the trip and the stay, and for complying with the laws of the country where they are, such as those on traffic, insurance, accommodation, taxes and electoral rules.
  • Third-party content. Listings, requests and messages are the responsibility of whoever wrote them. The site does not guarantee that they are true, complete or up to date. When it receives a report, it reviews it and removes anything that breaks these rules or the law.
  • No guarantee of outcome. The site is provided as is. It does not guarantee that a ride or stay will happen, that the other person will turn up, or that you will reach your polling station in time.
  • Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, the site and the person responsible for it are not liable for damage arising from interactions between users, such as accidents, delays, cancellations, loss of or damage to property, disagreements about costs, or failing to vote. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that the law does not allow to be excluded.
  • Those who break the rules are liable. If the site or the person responsible for it is held to account for something you did in breach of these terms or the law, you are liable for the losses you caused.
  • Disagreements between users are settled between them. In the event of a crime or danger, contact the authorities of the country where you are.
  • Before you publish an offer or request a place, the site shows a notice with these rules and asks you to confirm. People who offer also commit, at that point, not to make the place depend on how anyone votes, not to campaign and not to put amounts in the listing, and take responsibility for what they publish and arrange.

Moderation and reports

  • Listings go live immediately, without prior review. Moderation may review them at any time, especially when they are reported.
  • We may remove listings and requests that break these rules and ban anyone who persists. In serious cases, such as scams, harassment or threats, the ban is immediate.
  • To report something, use the "Report" button on the listing or write to contato@votolafora.com.br.
  • The site is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call 112 in the European Union, or the emergency number of the country where you are.

Data and content

  • The Privacy policy explains what data we use and how to exercise your rights.
  • Listings remain public until they are cancelled or removed. You can delete your account whenever you want.
  • All personal data is deleted by 15 November 2026.
  • The site is an independent, volunteer initiative, with no ties to any party, campaign or candidate. It is open to any voter, and nobody has to say who they vote for in order to use it.

Governing law

  • These terms are governed by Brazilian law, in particular the Marco Civil da Internet (Lei 12.965/2014, Brazil's Internet Civil Framework) and the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Lei 13.709/2018, Brazil's General Data Protection Law), without prejudice to the rights granted to you by the law of the country where you live.
